Sole Expression — Digital Collage & Visual Storytelling
Sole Expression is a photographic digital collage series featuring three sneakers I designed at TOMS, reimagined as immersive, dreamlike environments. Each half pair is uniquely accessorized and placed within its own visual world, transforming footwear into a portal for memory, imagination, and identity. The project explores style as an emotional language, framing accessorizing as one of the most personal forms of self-expression—the soul within the sole.
This work allowed me to expand beyond traditional footwear design and into visual storytelling, blending my background in product design with graphic and digital design. Using collage, composition, and layered imagery—often sourced from my own travel photography—I created playful yet intentional dreamscapes that give each shoe its own personality while maintaining strong visual hierarchy and narrative clarity.
Sole Expression was exhibited during ArtPrize at Zeal Aerial Fitness, where I was honored to be one of 13 female artists showcasing work in the space. This project represents a meaningful intersection of craft, imagination, and design beyond wearability, inviting viewers to experience footwear as art, story, and self-expression.
